A quiet little village Keratokambos, situated next to the sea on the southeast coast, is a small resort that has long been enjoyed by the local Cretans. Greek Orthodox Easter is the best-known festival and should not be missed if visiting during early May.

one main street which lines the long sand and shingle beach where you can find a local supermarket, cafés, and a handful of taverns, ensuring you dont need to go far to experience real Cretan cooking and hospitality at its best. 10 minutes east and you are at the larger village of Toutourous which boasts a beautiful beach, also in only 1 hour you reach the capital of the south of Crete, Ierapetra the south’s city since Minoan times still having a Venetian harbour castle and a large modern shopping centre, harbour bars, restaurants and nightlife.
